.Some of the highlights from the 45th session:

• a fascinating book was published that incorporated part of the convention in its story. Titled- " A tour through the West with the Jersey City Elks, ". Written by Van Loan, Ida A. Reprinted 1910. It can be purchased by going to Abebooks.com. This cross country train trip was planned well in advance of the convention and I believe was organized by the Philadelphia elks. They took several weeks on this train trip. stopped in many places where there was an elks lodge and were greeted fabulously. the book has a few photos but mostly is a detailed journal of this most amazing trip. Highly recommended for all elks and those who want to learn about life in America at the turn of the 20th century. Actually Google books has it online for FREE.
